Card Machine Dashboard Design at DOJO (FinTech).
(Reporting tool for Business owners)
Intro
Superpay is a dashboard app for customers of card machine readers who needed to view profits, losses and card payment transactions. This data was vital for business owners who needed to understand how well their businesses were performing.
Business owners use the app to count up and understand the number of transactions and amount of money generated during trading.
Originally the app was made for a single business with one location only.
The challenge for this was to understand how business owners manage their day, their transactions and their money generated when running multiple locations.
Research
Key learnings
From previous research that our Product Manager had built knowledge on, I drilled down on 2 key customer behaviours:
Comparing amounts at a high level
Investigating details
Wireframing
After conversations with the team, and working out how each data point interacted or effected another data point. These are the wireframes I presented to the team.
KEY CUSTOMER GOAL
To easily compare business earnings at a high level.
Single location
An easy way for business owners to view all of their business earnings and transactions for one business branch.
Multiple locations
An easy way for business owners to view all of their business takings for multiple branches in one place (location breakdown page).
Conclusion
It’s easy to get caught in the worm hole of data.
When you begin looking at how data is tied together together across multiple pages, multiple locations, multiple data points and multiple views, it can quickly become complex.
The key learning is to keep stripping back any unnecessary information so that the customer journey is kept as simple as possible, and easy to consume large amounts of information
