Do you have a scarcity mindset or a growth mindset?
Now what is the difference between the two? A scarcity mindset might say things like, I'm not good enough. I haven't got enough experience, everybody else can do it, but I can't. They are just better at it. They have so much knowledge and experience, and it comes easy to them.
A growth mindset might say something like, I've done this before, so I can do it again. I know I'm good at these things. I know what my strengths are. I also know what my weaknesses are, and I work on them. I don't let my weaknesses define me. I use my strengths to define me. I know my superpowers. I know I can do anything. I put my mind to see the difference between the two. Now, when you use a growth mindset over a scarcity mindset, your entire experience changes. So when you're doing your presentations and you've got all your findings, all your research findings, you're presenting it to your team, and then all of sudden, you might have these unwanted thoughts creeping in, saying, Oh, you're not good enough. You made a mistake. Look at that little typo. They're all gonna laugh. All of these things come to mind. It happens to everybody at some point, and that's why we need to work on the opposite and focus on things that we are good at and always have a bank of strengths that we can draw back on in those moments to remind us how good we are what we Do. It's too easy to get caught up and allow those negative thoughts to take over, and then that in itself, could be the very thing that makes your presentation crumble, not the work that you've done itself, not your potential, not your skills, just the way you think about yourself and your presentation can have a huge impact as to how it turns out in the end, and your audience can feel whether you have that belief in yourself and your presentation. So there is a term called neuroplasticity, which means that our brains can rewire themselves to either continuously think negative thoughts and build a habit of thinking negative thoughts about ourselves, or we can rewire our brains to think positively about ourselves. It's a habit that we can work on. The brain is like a muscle, and that's why it's called neuroplasticity, where the brain can improve, can have the potential to be wired in whichever way we want it to go in, and it's a habit. It's just a habit. So I really recommend taking time to focus your energy on your strengths, your power, your unique superpowers your unique UX superhero powers.
